The Guards Memorial - St Jamess Park, London (as seen from Horseguards Parade) - unveiled by the Duke of Connaught on 16th October, 1926. An obelisk of Portland stone with a granite base. The five bronze figures represent the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards and the Household Cavalry. The bronze used in the statues came from German guns captured by the Guards during action in World War One. Date: circa 1926
