Grove Ferry (Kent, England) took its name from a hand-drawn ferry that crossed the River Great Stour, shown here in this early 20th century postcard photograph. the two end ramps folded up and the ferry bridge was moved via ropes and pulleys connected each side of the riverbank. Date: circa 1920
