George V as a German officer
George V appearing in uniform at an inspection of his regiment, the 1st Dragoons of the Guards, in Berlin together with Kaiser Wilhelm II during a visit to Germany in 1913 for the wedding of the Kaisers only daughter, Princess Victoria Louise. George was honorary colonel of the regiment. The two cousins are looking at photographs of previous festivities in connection with the wedding. This picture was taken less than a year and a half before England declared war on Germany in August 1914
