General SIR HUGH HENRY GOUGH (1833 - 1909) Indian born, British Army General. and recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces, for his actions during the Indian Mutiny of 1857.
