Yvonne Fitzroy
Miss Yvonne Fitzroy (1891 - 1971), British actress, and daughter of Sir Almeric Fitzroy who had been Clerk of the Privy Council since 1898. She was a nurse at the Scottish Women's Hospital in Roumania and before that, worked at Mrs Dugdale's hospital in Derbyshire. She was decorated for her war work and wrote a book about her experiences entitled, With the Scottish Nurses in Roumania.

Tatler cover - Yvonne Fitzroy, WW1
Yvonne FitzRoy (1891-1971), actress and society figure on the front cover of The Tatler magazine in 1917. She was a theatre actress before the First World War. But her acting career was cut short when she was summoned by the Scottish Womens Hospital (supported by the National Union of Scottish Womens Suffrage Societies) to serve as a volunteer nurse in Romania and Russia. She was awarded a Russian medal at the end of the War and wrote a book on her experiences about serving at the Russian front. After the war, she went to India where she worked as the private secretary for the wife of the Viceroy from 1920 to 1926. She was daughter of Sir Almeric Fitzroy. Date: 1917
