An audacious robbery: gold and jewellery worth 110, 000 francs are stolen from a Paris home. The robbers get in through a hole in the ceiling!

Royal wedding 1863 - the Princess's dressing room, Windsor
The dressing room of Princess Alexandra of Denmark(Princess of Wales,)(1844-1925)at St George's Chapel, Windsor, on the occasion of her marriage to Edward Prince of Wales(later Edward VII)(1841-1910). The room is lavishly decorated with garlanded columns and an enormous mirror mounted on a dressing table. Date: 10th March 1863

Interior of a house in the East End of London where the demand for cheap accommodation was such that even a part of a room might be sub-let as indicated by the notice on the window. The room's bare floor is being cleaned by a woman with two large buckets. Another woman, sewing or mending, sits next to a sewing machine.
