Nebuchadnezzar orders everyone to worship his image, but Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego refuse, so are cast into a fiery furnace : but Gods angel preserves them

Hezekiah Reprieved
As this king of Judah lies on what he supposes to be his deathbed, the prophet Isaiah tells him that God has granted him a further 15 years

He causes a widows oil to multiply until every container in the house is full, enabling her to sell it and pay off her debts, so her sons are not taken away as bondsmen

Jesus in the Desert
He goes into the desert where he fasts for 40 days/nights; the Evil One tries to tempt him with offers Jesus can t refuse, but he is wasting his time - Jesus refuses them !

Moses Breaks the Tables
He comes down from Mt Sinai bringing the Tables of the Law, only to find the Israelites worshipping a Golden Calf instead; angry, he breaks the tablets

He interprets Nebuchadnezzars dream

Jonah preaches to the people of Nineveh, who take it in good part

The Disobedient Prophet
A prophet is sent by God against Jeroboam but he is tricked by a false prophet to eat food when God has told him not to, so God rather unkindly sends a lion to eat him

The waters rise, the land is flooded, one by one the sinful people are drowned, until only Noah and his family are left alive, sole representatives of the human race

Samuel, with Gods approval, is judge of Israel, as well as priest and prophet

In prison due to Potiphars wifes false accusation, he interprets the dreams of the chief cup-bearer and the chief baker - both will have their heads lifted in differing ways

Gideon Gets the Sign
He asks God for a sign that he will have heavenly support against the Midianites : an angel shows him a sacrificial lamb which bursts into flame with divine fire

Joshua and Moses
He receives power and authority from Moses

Moses & Brazen Serpent
When the Israelites are stricken by plague, Moses sets up a bronze serpent - a traditional symbol symbolising Gods power to heal them
