Woman: barbette & fillet. Man: tabard style sleeveless surcote, tunic, mantle fastened with cord. Italian students wear voluminous gowns & a fur-lined surcote. 13th century

C13th German Costume
Women: tabard style super- tunic (surcote) worn over a gown, loose flowing hair, ornamental fillet (circlet), veil, barbette & fillet. Man: tunic, mantle & cape. Date: 13th century

Italian costume. Woman: bold striped gown, the sleeves decorated with ribbon bows, hair worn in a long plait. Men: fur -trimmed tabard or huke, soled hose. Date: 1488 - 1490
