Evidence of the ibex is widely present in the archaeological record, particularly in the Near East and Mediterranean regions. Ibex motifs are very common on cylinder seals and pottery, both painted and embossed. Date: circa 1900

Also documented is a facsimile of the charter of William the Conqueror to the City of London and a portrait of Henry Fitzailwin, the first Mayor of London. Date: 1889

Egyptian 'Fantasy' card - featuring an Egyptian State Telegram and an inset photograph of the Al-Azhar University and Mosque, Cairo, Egypt (founded in 975) all on a faux papyrus background! The chief centre of Arabic literature and Sunni Islamic learning in the world and the world's second oldest surviving degree granting university. It is associated with Al-Azhar mosque in Islamic Cairo. The university's mission includes the propagation of Islamic religion and culture. To this end, its Islamic scholars (ulemas) render edicts (fatwas) on disputes submitted to them from all over the Sunni Islamic world regarding proper conduct for Muslim individuals or societies. Date: 1910
