The warden (Mr Dennis Hird M. A.) and students of Ruskin Hall, shortly after it had opened in 1899. Ruskin College, originally known as Ruskin Hall, Oxford, is an independent educational institution in Oxford, England. It is named after the essayist and social critic John Ruskin (18191900) and specialises in providing educational opportunities for adults with few or no qualifications. Date: 1899

Memorial to Ruskin - Coniston, Cumbria
Memorial to John Ruskin - St Andrew's Churchyard, Coniston, Cumbria. The large carved cross was made from green slate from the local quarry at Tilberthwaite. It was carved by H.T. Miles, to a design by W.G. Collingwood, who was an expert on Anglo-Saxon crosses, with symbols depicting important aspects of Ruskin's work and life. Date: circa 1910s
