Curtiss-Cox Model 22 - Cactus Kitten
Curtiss-Cox Model 22 Cactus Kitten still crated at the Morane-Saulnier factory in France, being readied for shipment back to the US. In the spring of 1920, Texas oil millionaire S. E. J. Cox decided to have two racers built for the James Gordon Bennett race to be held in France the following September. The two aircraft (named Texas wildcat and Cactus Kitten) were hastily designed, built and crated for shipment to France, without the benefit of flight testing. Date: 1920
