Carpentry & plumbing, Training Ship Wellesley, North Shields
Boys learning carpentry and plumbing on the Training Ship Wellesley, on the River Tyne at North Shields, Northumberland. In 1868, James Hall and other local businessmen set up a charity to provide shelter for Tyneside waifs and train young men for naval service. Their base from 1874 was the Wellesley until a fire in 1914 forced the institution ashore to become the Wellesley Nautical School

Hopeless Plumber - Flooded House
"What is home without a Plumber." He leaves the water tap runnning... A family wakes up in the morning to discover that the rather hopeless plumber (who seems rather non-plussed by the whole scene) has left a tap on, flooding their donstairs and sadly causing the demise of the family pet dog. Date: circa 1910s
