The second of two sentimental pictures by the pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais (1829-1896) showing a little girl dressed in a red cape and fur muff dozing off to sleep during a particularly long church sermon.

Vesta Victoria (Victoria Lawrence) music hall singer and character comedienne. Born in Leeds but affected a cockney stage persona. Demure pose with hands in fur muff. Fur trimmed jacket and large hat with flowers tied with a wide ribbon. Date: circa 1906

Clothing for the autumn season, two women wearing pretty frocks for the afternoon. Model to the left, soft fawn-coloured velvet cotele with sash of crepe de chine tied loosely st the side, piping on the frock and bows on the sleeves. Model to the right, soft draped satin slightly open ankle, the ceinture and button are made of velvet and plisse collarette is composed of fine creamy lace.
