Italy. Rome. Palazzo Farnese. High Renaissance. It was designed in 1517 for the Farnese family. The building was expanded when Alessandro Farnese became Pope Paul III in 1534, to designs by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger. In it participated some of the most prominent Italian architects of the 16th century, including Michelangelo, Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola and Giacomo della Porta. Currently serves as the French embassy in Italy.

The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican (Latin: Basilica Sancti Petri), officially known in Italian as Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano and commonly known as Saint Peter's Basilica, is a Late Renaissance church located within Vatican City. Designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, St Peter's is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and remains one of the largest churches in the world. Date: circa 1890s
