German & Prussian Crown Princess with two eldest sons 1909

Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1886 1954), German Crown Princess and Crown Princess of Prussia, married to German Crown Prince Wilhelm, with her two eldest sons, (left) Prince Wilhelm of Prussia (1906 1940), second in line to the German throne, but both his Grandfather and Father outlived him. (right) Louis Ferdinand, Prince of Prussia (1907 1994), member of the Hohenzollern family, was the pretender to the abolished German monarchy.

Royal wedding 1893 - opera visit before the marriage

The royal party at Covent Garden Opera, for the performance of Romeo and Juliet. From left to right: the Duke of York, Princess May of Teck(1867-1953), Grand Duke of Hesse, Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the Czarevitch(later Tsar Nicholas II), Queen of Denmark, Princess of Wales and the King of Denmark. Two days later, Princess May of Teck married the Duke of York. Later, they became King George V and Queen Mary.

Herzogin Cecilie wrecked off Starhole Bay, Devon

The Herzogin Cecilie, a German four mast barque (Windjammer), named after German Crown Princess Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1886-1954), on the rocks off Starhole (Starehole) Bay, near Salcombe, Devon, after one of her many races round the world. She was gradually broken up by the waves, and the remains are still on the seabed."
