Macready and Kelly, non-stop coast to coast flight, USA

Lieutenant John A Macready and Lieutenant Oakley G Kelly, who were awarded the Mackay Trophy for the first non-stop USA coast-to-coast flight. The flight began on 2 May 1923, and concluded the following day, in a modified Fokker T2. They took off from Roosevelt Field, New York and landed at Rockwell Field, in San Diego, California. The official flight time was just over 26 hours, 50 minutes. Seen here on an airfield, standing in front of their plane. Date: 1923
