Patterns from a plain helmet or balaclava cap (top) and a sleeping cap taken from a Great War era Baldwin's knitting booklet with instructions for knitting various comforts for soldiers at the front. The patterns recommended Baldwin's White Heather wheeling in either regulation khaki or various shades of grey and brown. Date: c. 1915
