Front cover of Her Excellency's Knitting Book, a book of patterns for knitting comforts for troops during the First World War. The 193-page book was produced by Lady Liverpool (Annette Liverpool) and published in New Zealand in August 1915. It contained patterns for items like socks and balaclavas for men fighting abroad and was small enough to fit inside a woman's knitting bag. Date: 1915

Caricature of Lord Charles William de la Poer Beresford (1846-1919), at this time a Royal Navy captain (later an Admiral), and Admiral Frederick Beauchamp Paget Seymour (1821-1895). The Admiral asks Beresford to ensure that looting does not take place on either side during the bombardment of Alexandria during the Anglo-Egyptian war of 1882, when he served as Captain of the gunboat HMS Condor.
