Will and Betty Rogers - outdoor cookery
Will Rogers (1879-1935) - a Cherokee cowboy, vaudeville performer, humorist, newspaper columnist, social commentator and stage and motion picture actor, pictured here with his wife Betty Rogers (nee Blake - 18791944) - doing a spot of outdoor cookery at his home in Pacific Palisades, California. During the 'Roaring' Twenties, Rogers appeared as an anchor of stability; his conventional home life and traditional moral code reminded people of an innocent past. Date: circa 1930

The Cartoonist Sem
The cartoonist and caricaturist, Georges Goursat, otherwise known as "Sem", (1863 - 1934), pictured at the races at Auteuil with Madame Roxane. Sem was a member of the Salon des Humoristes and an officer of the Legion of Honour. His caricatures are a revealing glimpse into Parisian society around the turn of the last century.
