Satirical postcard showing Sisowath (1840-1927), King of Cambodia shaking the trunk of French President Armand Fallieres (18411931) who is in the form of a benevolent Sacred Elephant. Sisowath is saying: "I carry in my heart a sacred remembrance". Sisowath had run out of money by the end of his visit to France (in July 1906) and had to leave the country in tears and embarrassed (as he was having so much fun!). Date: 1906

Message from King George V to his people after the marriage of his only daughter Princess Mary to Viscount Lascelles, later 6th Earl of Harewood, on 28th February 1922. "The Queen and I cannot allow a day to pass which has been to us so happy and so memorable without making it known how deeply we have been touched by the warm and affectionate good wishes of my subjects in all parts of the Empire [...] we appreciate their good will all the more vividly because we know well that many at this moment are living in the shadow of the greatest hardship and anxiety." Date: 28th February 1922

The back of an 18 carat gold Tiffany watch presented to Captain Rostron of the RMS Carpathia, as a token of gratitude from three of the survivors rescued by the Carpathia on 15 April 1912 shortly after the Titanic sank: Mrs John B Thayer, Mrs John Jacob Astor and Mrs George D Widener. It bears the initials AHR, ie Arthur Henry Rostron
