Suffragette Arson Hurst Park
Suffragette Arson Hurst Park. Shows the destroyed Grand Stand at Hurst Park Racecourse, 8th June 1913, caused by an arson attack by militant suffragettes 'Kitty Marion' (1871-1944) and Betty Giveen. Marion wrote later, the Grand Stand would 'make a most appropriate beacon' to commemorate Emily Wilding Davison's actions at the Epsom Derby. Davison died later that day. Date: 1913
