Statue of Ambiorix in Tongeren, Belgium. He was a leader of the Eburones, a Belgic tribe in north-east Gaul, the location of modern Belgium. Ambiorix became a national hero in the region due to his uprising against the troops of the Roman emperor Julius Caesar.
