Southwark's Emergency Tender and crew. By the 1920s emergency tenders were developing into far more that just a carrier of firefighters with breathing apparatus and lighting at incidents. Special cutting equipment was being added to the inventory, and the means to resuscitate both the firefighters and members of the public from the effects of smoke or gases.
