Cartoon, Tiddy Doll the great French Gingerbread Baker, drawing out a new Batch of Kings, his Man, Hopping Talley [Talleyrand], mixing up the Dough, by James Gillray. A comment on Napoleon's method of appointing new heads of state, mostly from his own family. On the right are models of British politicians such as Fox and Sheridan, seen to be in favour of making peace with the new French republic. Below is an Ash-Hole for broken Gingerbread, with the remains of old monarchies. Date: 1806
