The Dollar Princess by A. M. Willner (11 July 1859 27 October 1929) and F. Gruenbaum (7 April 1880 - 14 January 1941), with music by Leo Fall (2 February 1873 16 September 1925). (Theater an der Wien, Vienna on 2nd November 1907). English adaptation by Basil Hood. First produced at Dalys Theatre, on 25th September 1909. The artist is R. Pannett from photos of Lily Elsie as Alice and Robert Michaelis as Freddy. George Edwardess Co. touring to Kennington Theatre on 24th November 1913. The Merry Widow was also offered during three nights of the week. Reproduced in The Stage Year Book 1911 between pp 10 and 11. Date: 1913

Portrait of Consuelo Vanderbilt (1877 - 1964), American heiress and first wife of Charles Spencer-Churchill, 9th Duke of Marlborough. She married the duke in 1895 after being coerced into the marriage by her mother. After her divorce in 1920, she devoted much of her time to social welfare and was married again, to Colonel Jacques Balsan. Pictured here with her two sons, the Marquis of Blandford and Lord Ivor Charles Spencer-Churchill, The little boy in the right of the picture became the 10th Duke of Marlborough. Date: 1903

She married the duke in 1895 after being coerced into the marriage by her mother. After her divorce in 1920, she devoted much of her time to social welfare and was married again, to Colonel Jacques Balsan. Pictured in The Tatler in 1919 which mention her charitable work including the Children's Jewel Fund and her role as a representative for Southwark on the London County Council. Date: 1919
