Cartoon, The Disappointed Undertakers -- a satirical comment on the rivaly between the Liberal Party (represented by Lord John Russell, John Bright and William Gladstone), and the Conservative Party (Benjamin Disraeli). Disraeli is clearly staying where he is, at the Treasury (at least for the time being). Date: 1868

Bonzos dud show by George Studdy
Bonzo's dud show. He had been expecting first prize, but loses out to two pedigree dogs, a bull terrier and a bulldog. George Ernest Studdy (1878-1948), was the creator of Bonzo, a small dog with saucer-like eyes and indiscriminate breeding who first appeared in the Sketch in 1922. Print shows second trial by Dr. John Sheldon, anatomist, to launch a balloon at Lord Foley's grounds in Portland Place, London, which resulted in the balloon's destruction by fire (Source: LTC.
