POSADA, Jos頇uadalupe (1852-1913). Printed songs 1901. 'En alta mar' (Waltz) and 'Dance of the forty-one'. Zinc engraving printed in the press of A. Vanegas Arroyo. Represents the scandal happened in Mexican society during the presidency of Porfirio Diaz. In a raid on a private home of the upper classes, the police arrested 41 men, half of whom were dressed in women's clothing. Since then, the number 41 or 42 is part of the popular culture to refer to homosexuals. Contemporary Art. Engraving.
