Carcel and his Lamp
BERTRAND GUILLAUME CARCEL, French clockmaker, in 1800 demonstrates his oil lamp which incorporates wheels and pistons. It's a good lamp, but he dies in poverty.

Siberian shaman / medicine man / sorcerer / wizard / healer / foreteller - demonstrates 'magic glasses'. Polar Circle, Siberia, Russia. April. Selkup (siberian indigenous minority) shaman Ganya (a local name) shows the content of a box of sacred shaman's items and totems 'amgri' he has inherited from another shaman a long time ago, including 'foretelling glasses' made of some kind of old metal decoration; a bunch of shaman's totems is suspended over his head (including a skin of ermine). Prior to a spiritual devotion 'kamlanie' inside his winter-hut on frozen river Taz bank.
