Pregnant Guppy N1024V under construction with On Mark Engineering at LAX - March 1962. the conversion was carried out in stages, First a portion of BOAC Stratocruiser was inserted in the rear fuselage and then the large outer shell of the cargo compartment was added to the standard B337 fuselage, for aerodynamic and structural trials. After the aircraft flew successfully and was demonstrated to Wernher von Braun, sufficient interest was generated to complete the conversion by cutting away the standard fuselage inside the large shell. - (photographer - AR Krieger) Date: 1962

Bystander Riviera supplement - train de luxe
Cover of The Bystander magazine's Riviera supplement carrying an illustrated advertisement for the Train de Luxe Calais-Mediterranean Express which ran daily from Calais to the Riviera. It ran in connection with the 11am train from London Victoria (South East & Chatham Railway) and the journey took 22 hours in total. As illustrated, the train conveyed travellers to the Cote d'Azur in the most comfortable surroundings. Date: 1913

Spacelab. Full reusable orbital research laboratory
Spacelab was a reusable laboratory used on certain spaceflights flown by the Space Shuttle. The laboratory comprised multiple components, including a pressurized module, an unpressurized carrier and other related hardware housed in the Shuttle's cargo bay. The components were arranged in various configurations to meet the needs of each spaceflight. Spacelab components flew on 22 Shuttle missions between November 1983 and April 1998. Deutches Museum.
