Entry of General Mannerheim into Helsinki, Finland
Entry of General Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim (1867-1951) into Helsinki (Helsingfors), Finland, after the Finnish Civil War. He served in the Imperial Russian Army, returning to Finland in 1917 as he was opposed to the new communist regime. He became an officer in the Finnish Army during the civil war period, and was later Regent (1918-1919) and President (1944-1946). Date: 1918
