First produced Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne, 12th November and Apollo Theatre, 20th November 1928. Flyer for Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith revival, 26th December 1929. The artist, George Sheringham has based his design on one of Thackerays original drawings for the story. Date: 1929

John Profumo, Minister for War, resigned the next day after admitting he had lied to the House earlier that year in March regarding his affair with Christine Keeler, who was also believed to be having a simultaneous liaison with the Russian Naval Attache in London, Yevgeny Ivanov.
