Lady's real pigskin dressing case, with solid silver fittings. Advertisement John Pound & Co dressing cases. John Pound became Lord Mayor of London in 1904. With less time to run his business, he gave control of the company to his two sons, John Lulham and Percy Albert. John Pound & Co. continued to trade until the 1940s or 1950s when it was taken over by John Lewis.

Robert Falcon Scott and his Fry's Cocoa and Chocolate supply

Robert Falcon Scott (1868-1912), the English naval commander and explorer. A Captain in the Royal Navy, Scott led a number of expeditions to the Antarctic, dying in a 1912 attempt to reach the South Pole. This promotional card for Fry's depicts Scott (inset portrait) and his ship (The SS Terra Nova) alongside some of the many cases of Fry's Cocoa and Chocolate products specially packed for the expedition. Date: 1910
