Emerald, Lady Cunard (1872-1948), wearing a giant feather boa, pictured sitting next to Marquess of Milford Haven at the Ice Carnival, a society function organised by the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland, in aid of the Royal Northern Hospital. Formerly the American heiress Miss Maud Burke, Lady Cunard is the daughter of Mr E. F. Burke of New York. She was a well-known figure in London Society and a leader of the artistic and intellectual smart set. Date: 1932
