Origin Species, CH Bennett, Courting man - frog

He would a-wooing go'. Satire on Darwin's Origin of Species showing the evolution of a rotund man, from a frog. Middle aged, swelled out of all proportion and adorned with the newest waistcoat and heavy watch-chain, with a flower in his buttonhole and curl in his hair. He is fat, complacent and happy...and has come courting! It's easy to see how he might have evolved from the frog, but alas the frogs fate is sealed by the duck (laid from the egg evolved from his hat) who consumes him (divorce, bankruptcy?). His wooing is at an end

Presentation to Prince Charles, Royal Cornwall Show

A presentation is made to HRH the Prince of Wales by the Young Farmers Union at the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Show, which takes place at the beginning of June each year, at Wadebridge in North Cornwall. The show lasts for three days and attracts approximately 120, 000 visitors, making it one of Cornwall's major tourist attractions
