Sir Astley Paston Cooper
Sir Astley Paston Cooper (1768 - 1841), 1st Baronet, English surgeon and anatomist, surgeon to Guy's Hospital. In 1820 he removed an infected sebaceous cyst from the head of King George IV. About six months afterwards received a baronetcy. First to tie the abdominal aorta in treatment of aneurysm

Post Office Telegraphs: Official war news
Official war news detailing British, French and Russian advances on 30th July 1916. The British forces are reported to have repulsed enemy attempts to recapture Selville Wood, and progress north of Poziers and near High Wood with extreme enemy losses. The French sucessfully defend the Somme, West Vermand-Ovillers and Verdun, whilst the Russians won an important victory, moving the enemy front from Kovel Railway to Brody(Ukraine)
