Railway accident at Abbots Ripton, Huntingdonshire
A railway accident at Abbots Ripton, Huntingdonshire (now Cambridgeshire) on the Great Northern Railway. Shown here is the raising of a locomotive from the wreckage. The accident happened when the Flying Scotsman express train from Edinburgh to London was involved in a double collision, during a blizzard, with a coal train and another passenger train. Thirteen passengers were killed, and 59 people injured
