On September 19th, 1901 manoeuvres (as part of the Franco-Russian alliance) took place on the Betheny Plain (near Reims, France), involving the participation of 120, 000 soldiers under the command of General Brugere.Tsar Nicolas II of Russia, Tsarina Alexandra and President Loubet accompanied by ministers attended the grand ceremony.
