Canadas part in the Somme advance - a brilliant affair at Courcelette. The capture of the sugar refinery at Courcelette by the Canadians on 15 September 1916. The Canadians finally captured the whole village, took over 1, 200 prisoners including 32 officers, two guns and large number of machine guns and several heavy minenwerfers or trench mortars in the course of heavy fighting.
