North Dakota Air National Guard - Northrop F-89D-55-NO Scorpion 53-2517, of the 178th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, North Dakota Air National Guard, at a Naval Air Station, (with A-1H Skyraider BuNo 137624 in the background). The F-89D introduced an all-rocket armament with fifty-two Mk 4 Folding-Fin Aerial Rockets (FFAR) in the forward 1-3 of the wing-tip fuel - weapon pods and 308 US gallons of fuel in the rear 2-3. *1955: USAF 11th FIS (515th ADG).*1958: North Dakota ANG 178th FIS.*1960: Vermont ANG 134th FIS.
