Fedora by Victorien Sardou was first produced at the Theatre du Vaudeville in Paris, 12th December 1882. The English version by Herman Merivale was first produced at the Haymarket Theatre, London on 5th May 1883. This image shows Fedora outside her wounded fianc钳 sick room in Act I. Sardou created the role of his heroine, a passionate Russian princess, for Sarah Bernhardt, and most of Europes leading actresses played the part. In this revival for the Globe Theatre, London which started on 30th October 1920, it was played by Australian actress Marie Lohr. Date: 1920
