The February Revolution of 1917 - the first of two revolutions in Russia in 1917. Centered on the then capital Petrograd (modern day St. Petersburg) in March. The immediate result was the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II, the end of the Romanov dynasty, and the end of the Russian Empire. This card depicts a procession following the Revolution, with a caption which reads: A peoples funeral for the victims who fell for freedom 23rd March 1917 Petrograd. Date: 1917
