The Eternal City by Hall Caine (14 May 1853 31 August 1931), adapted from his novel of 1901. First produced at His Majestys Theatre, on 2nd October 1902. Roma lies among the fragments of the bust of David Rossi. She has just broken it so that it cannot help in his capture. Baron Bonelli tells her (caption): As You Have Broken His Image, I Will Break The Man (Act II). Date: 1902
