Eliza Comes to Stay by H. V. Esmond. First produced at the Pier Theatre, Brighton, as Sandy and his Eliza on 30th September 1912 and at the Criterion Theatre on 12th December 1913. The caption reads Aint E A Lovely Man? Sandy Verrall is asleep in his London flat. Eliza sits on the arm of the settee. On the floor are plays which Sandy has been reading. Photos show that this is an accurate picture of the scene, with the character Eliza is addressing omitted, and a cherub added on the left. Date: 1913
