The ebony minbar in the Alaeddin Mosque in Konya, Turkey
On the site originally there was a Christian Basilica which was converted to a mosque. This minbar was within this converted mosque. An inscription dates the fine, ebony minbar to 1155; the minbar is the first dated example of Selcuk art in Anatolia. The polychrome ceramic frame of the mihrab and the dome above may date to this period. Date: 1155
