Dorchester House, Park Lane, London - The official residence of the American Ambassador (The US Embassy) - built in 1853 by Robert Stayner Holford - demolished in 1929 - now the site of the Dorchester Hotel. The occupant at this time was Mr Whitelaw Reid (1837-1912), Ambassador between and 1905-1912 (he died whilst in office). Date: circa 1908
