The Cenotaph, Whitehall, London. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the permanent structure was built from Portland stone between 1919 and 1920 by Holland, Hannen & Cubitts. Unveiled by King George V on 11th November 1920, the second anniversary of the Armistice with Germany which ended the First World War. Date: circa 1920
