Our Day in London, October 1918
Four photographs reporting on activities across London during Our Day, an event organised to raise funds for the Red Cross. In Trafalgar Square, as pictured, there was a camouflage fair where a diminutive pony collector showed off specimens, munition girls sold Red Cross parachutes in faithfully recreated trenches, Lady Sybil Grant (daughter of Lord Rosebery) tried out a bioscope and George Robey auctioned a pig called Daisy which had been donated by the allotment holders of Wandsworth, although The Sketch reports it was donated by The Queen?!
