Our first Chilean peeress: the Countess of Lisburne(-1944). Formerly Mlle Regina Bittencourt, eldest daughter of the minister of the Chilean Legation to London. Her husband, Ernest Vaughan, the 7th Earl of Lisburne, was a lieutenant in the Scots Guards, was serving with his regiment at the front when this picture was published in the Bystander in 1915.
