The Coliseum in St. Martins Lane, pictured nearing completion with hoardings announcing three stages in one. Designed by renowned theatre architect Frank Matcham for the impresario Oswald Stoll, it opened on 24 December 1904 as The Coliseum Theatre of Varieties. It is now the home of the English National Opera. Date: 1904
