CHARLIE CHAPLIN Born in Kennington, London, the son of music-hall performers, Chaplin was renowned for his role in silent films. He left England for Hollywood in 1914 and made over 50 motion pictures between 1914-1916. Chaplin finally emigrated to Switzerland in the 1950s and was knighted in 1975
